No more Tinsel Teeth

Kourtni is a lucky duck. She got her braces off and doesn't have to deal with rubber-bands or wires inside her mouth.
No more metal mouth.
MEANWHILE...

I have rubber bands and train tracks on my teeth that hurt really bad in the morning. It has gotten better though. At first I was wearing my rubber bands the wrong way so I had to call my ortho. people and ask them how to put them on the right way like a responsible girl. Whoops. I keep forgetting to put them back in after brushing my teeth but I have gotten a little better at that too.

My Sweatshirt Has a Heart

I recently discovered this rip on my sweatshirt's sleeve is exactly the shape of a heart. It makes me laugh whenever I look at it.

Just Stuff I Bought

Yesterday Mom, Kourtni and I went shopping for something to wear to Ashley's wedding. We tried to coordinate with her color theme and this is what we got.
Ear rings. Not for the wedding because they don't match what I'm wearing but they're really light so they don't hurt my ears.

These also are not for the wedding (except for the middle shoes) but I liked them all. Plus I needed a new belt.
This is the dress Mom bought me and cardigan that I will wear for the wedding (well reception because I can't exactly go into the temple yet). Cute, eh?
These are not exactly mine and we are not even sure if they are even real Uggs but they are really warm and I can tell people they are real. Haha.
These are the shoes I bought because I love them. They are colorful, lightweight, and $30. Heehee yay.

No School=Powell's

Usually Payton and I are the only ones home on no school days because Mom is at her meetings, Kourtni is with her friends and Dad is at work. So I mean, we have to have something to do so we go to Powell's Sweet Shoppe. It is basically a tradition. Powell's has almost every candy you could think of or want. It is spendy though( like Payton spent $1.20 on a pack of peanut butter m&ms). It's always fun though and, since we had no school today, Payton and I hopped on over to THE candy shop of East Boise.

My candy again. I like the white gummy bears!

Things You Shouldn't Tell Payton to Do

So lately Payton has been a little bit... on edge (?) If I tell him to do something he just yells at me or grumbles. Here are a few things that you shouldn't tell him to do.

1. "Payton go clean your room," I say. "NOOO!" he yells.

2. " Payton stop screaming just because the Saints are losing/winning," I say. " TOO BAD!" he yells.

3. " Payton go do that job Dad wanted you to do," I say. " I WILLL!" he screams.

Yeah I don't know what's going through that boy's head sometimes. I might sound like I'm being his mother or overlord or something but I don't like to listen to him scream and (today) I am supposed to remind him to do his jobs. He kind of makes me laugh though.

I Am Happy For...

I am happy for a lot of things right now and probably should list them. So, here are a few.

I am happy for... 3 day weekends.

I am happy for... no homework.

I am happy for... getting all A's on my EOC's.

I am happy for... friends that I can eat pizza three times a day with (Valerie K.).

I am happy for... a clean room.

I am happy for... new clothes.

I am happy for... my aunt getting married(!)

I am happy for... friends that I can watch chick flicks with.

And other stuff.
(P.S. I am NOT happy for zits that appear every other day on my hairline and nose but that is another story :( )

New Background

So you might be wondering why I put up a 9/11 background but really I just thought it was pretty. I mean I really care about what happened and all, but it is way past that time of year.

My Animals

So as you know, I have a dog and a cat. Here are some pictures of them.

This actually is just me accidentally flipping the camera. It looks pretty cool though, huh.

Dad had the ladder out so I climbed to the top and took this picture up high.

The cat was digging.

Griffey was sneezing here. I got it at just the right moment.

She can climb trees now. But sometimes she's scared to get down.

Yes, she's sleeping on the toilet.

How to Peel a Pomegranate

So I know this is a little late but you can still buy pomegranates for a few more weeks. It's not too late! Pomegranates are my favorite fruit and I could eat a whole one by myself (well if Dad and Kourtni don't want some).
So first you'll need a cutting board, a knife, a bowl of water, and a pomegranate.

Then cut the pomegranate in half like so.

Then cut both halves in half.

Take one half ( you can brake this in half) and pick out the seeds with your fingers. It's best to do it in the water so the white skin floats to the top and the seeds sink to the bottom.

The remains of the pomegranate should look like this.

The rest of the seeds should be at the bottom of the bowl. Only eat the seeds where the juice is firm- ish. Don't eat the mushy ones.

Strain the water and then you can eat. It is ok to eat the seeds inside the juice.

Clue

I can't believe I've never played clue before. I played this version of clue( disney version) last night and it was so fun. If anyone is wondering what to get me for Christmas, this is what I want! Well the normal game of clue.

The Kitten

I never thought this would ever happen in my life but it did. I now have a cat. When I was little, Kourtni and I always wanted a cat and so we'd ask, "Will you get us a kitty Daddy?" Then he'd say something like," Oh sure I'll get you one tomorrow," but he never did. And finally we have a cat. She's really cute but she's a lot of hard work. One way to keep her busy though is to get a string and tie something funky on the end of it and then let her catch it. Then pull it away. Then let her catch it again, then pull it away. She also wakes us all up in the morning with her wailing and meowing. I don't know if we're really going to keep her but for the time being, I like her.

Her name is Cub because she stands on her hind feet like a bear.

Introducing the cat to Griffey.

We put her in this little Doll bed when she was asleep. This cat is spoiled.

Registration

We just got back from registering me for 8th grade and I'm on the blue team. That's good because blue team's better for 8th grade than green team is but so far, most of my friends are on green. That stinks but I'll still see them in the hallways and at lunch and break. Plus I have choir with most of them. I don't really want to go back to school but I can't stop it so I'm trying to "embrace" it.

School Shoes

So today Mom and I were out shopping and I got my favorite pair of shoes. They are Rocket Dogs. Then a few weeks ago, I bought some converse shoes with a funky design on them for only $25. Thats pretty good for converse. Both pairs will be my new school shoes.

I love them!

My Birthday

So, yesterday was my birthday and it was really good. Mom and I did Kenpo in the morning and let me tell you, it is hard! Then we went to Mom's classroom and worked in there for a little bit. Then, because I turned 13(hooray), we ate pizza at Lucky 13. We were really hungry so Kourtni, Payton and I polished off a whole large pizza. Once Dad got home, we had chicken fettucini and then Kourtni and I went to mutual. For the activity, we played fugitive (but we played it in the light and no one had cars- we were just on foot). So the objective was to be the first one to get from the church to Albertson's(for those of you don't live in Idaho, it is a grocery store). My friend Lexi and I just wanted to do it for fun so we just, you know, walked/ran through Simplot fields, up the hill, and through the parking lot. Then one of our leaders at the other end of the lot was calling for us to come quick and, what do you know, we had won. Well I say we but I got there before Lexi and she insisted that I won so I got the "Trophy". If you want to call it that.

Then my Beehive leader Sister Lowe gave me a happy birthday balloon and candy.

Kourtni got me a cute shirt.

Payton got me some candy and an orange organizer.

Alyssa mailed me a picture frame/picture of her and I (sorry Lyss, I had to put stickers on it).

Mom and Dad got me finger nail polish and remover,

A camera case...

and... a... CAMERA!

I love it so much. Plus the case color is really cute.

Jeans

Jeans are the best. I've forgotten how much I like them because it's been summer. But since school is getting close(eewww) and I made $40 baby-sitting last night, Mom, Kourtni and I decided to go shopping at Ross. I got two pairs of some sweet Billabong jeans. Both were dark blue but one pair was skinny leg and the other pair was flair. I really liked them but when I showed Dad the skinny leg ones, he says " Those need to go back, those are the jeans gay people wear!" I laughed when he said that and told him that only guys who are gay wear them and that they were girls jeans. Then I showed him my other ones and he liked those better so he eased up and said," What do I know, I'm a middle aged dad." Haha :) Anyway, I think I made a good "investment" in them.

Boise Zoo

Sorry I haven't  done any thing for a while. So Mom, Payton, Alyssa, and I went to the zoo today. I was so excited because I thought the new African exhibit there would be cool and I hadn't been there for a long time. So we got there and the animals seemed sort of depressed and we couldn't even see any sometimes. No hyenas, no red panda, no snow leopard(or at least we couldn't see them). Plus it was smokin' HOT! It was no wonder the animals didn't want to come out of their caves. We were going to ride our bikes there but we didn't and I'm glad. I did like the giraffes and the monkeys and the penguins. They were cool. We had a picnic in the park afterward and then we went to the pool for a little bit. The water felt really good too. Anyway, I'm probably not going to that zoo for a good 5<

Raft Along

On June 30, there's this thing sponsored by the Boise Police Department where you raft along the Payette river. Then you get lunch and a free t- shirt(I love getting t- shirts). I'm going to do it with my friends Valerie, Megan, and Amanda. Payton is doing it with his friends too. So if you want to raft some rapids, go to www.boisepal.org
and print out a waiver. It'll be fun:D

Bikes

Our bikes are the best. I love going on rides with my family around Boise. I wonder what we look like to other people with all of our cruisers. But anyway we took a ride around town yesterday attempting to ride over to Sandy Point but it would have been dark by the time we got there. We rode by the Boise river which was extremely high and swift and through Surprise Valley where we took a couple family pictures with our bikes(I would show pictures of it but I don't have a camera). Riding my bike is on of my favorite things to do. Oh, and Mom will you ride bikes with me over to Lucky Peak one of these days, please?

Now I'm Almost Done

Finally school is almost over. We only have two days left(but for me it's only one cause I have two half days). I'm looking forward to two end-of-the-year parties with my friends and the end of EOC's. I am so sick of study guides and reviews but I'm going to miss seventh grade. It was really fun. I just hope the summer goes by slowly. People always tell me they get bored of summer but I don't. It's my favorite season.

Almost Done

Finally, school is almost over! We only have 13 days left. This year has gone by really slowly but fast too. Anyway, I can't wait for SUMMER
